Parental Engagement

Parental Engagement
At Middleton, we aim to provide parents with as much information as possible so that you can fully understand what happens at school and so you can provide as much support for your child at home.
With this in mind, please find below our 2023/24 Parental Engagement document, which outlines all the information events/opportunities to visit school that we will offer this school year. Exact dates for events in the Spring & Summer terms will be shared nearer the time.

Information Events
These are designed to give parents as much information about various aspects of school life including: phonics/reading, assessment, other curriculum areas, residential visits etc. There will be a mix of in-person and virtual (via Microsoft Teams) events throughout the year.
SEND Parent Workshops
For those parents who may have children at Middleton with a special educational need, our SENDCo Mr Hughes (acting) will be putting on half termly workshops to support parents in various ways, including speech & language, ASC & neuro diversity and transition into new year groups.
Written Communication
In addition to the termly year group newsletters, we will also be sending home mid-year 'interim' reports about your child's progress & attainment, as well as the full end of school year reports.
In-school Visits
There are numerous events throughout the year for parents to visit school and see the work the children have produced, including the ever-popular 'Stay & Share' sessions and year group assemblies, as well as events such as the Foundation Nativities, Year 6 performances and of course Sports Days.
E-mails with further details about each event will be sent to parents a week or two before each one.
