Parental Engagement

At Middleton, we aim to provide parents with as much information as possible so that you can fully understand what happens at school and so you can provide as much support for your child at home.
With this in mind, please find above our 2022/23 Parental Engagement document, which outlines all the information events/opportunities to visit school that we will offer this school year.
 
Information Events
These are designed to give parents as much information about various aspects of school life including: phonics/reading, maths, other curriculum areas, behaviour, homework, safeguarding/online safety, residential visits etc. There will be a mix of in-person and virtual (via Microsoft Teams) events throughout the year. Please see the document for dates of Autumn term events - the Spring & Summer event dates will be sent home a half term in advance.
SEND Parent Workshops
For those parents who may have children at Middleton with a special educational need, Miss Green will be putting on half termly workshops to support parents in various ways, including speech & language, ASC & neuro diversity and transition into new year groups.
Written Communication
In addition to the termly year group newsletters, we will also be sending home mid-year 'interim' reports about your child's progress & attainment, as well as the full end of school year reports.
Podcasts
New for this year, we will also be creating short, 20-minute podcasts regarding the following key aspects of school life: safeguarding, attendance, pastoral support at Middleton, our co-curriculum offer, SMSC & British Values and transition. These podcasts will be available to download from the school website so parents can listen to them in their own time.
In-school Visits
In addition to the events we held last year, we will also be inviting parents into school to attend class assemblies, where the children will be showcasing all of their hard work from that term!
E-mails with further details about each event will be sent to parents a week or two before each one.
