Welcome to Middleton Primary School.

On behalf of the children, staff and governors I am delighted to welcome you to the Middleton Primary School website.

I am very proud to have been the Headteacher of this Ofsted rated Outstanding school since 2016, following many years as a member of the senior management team.

The ethos of the school is based on our values of ‘Ready, Respectful and Safe’. We regularly teach and model these values, along with the core British Values. Personal development is at the heart of what we teach – we want our children to grow and flourish into active, responsible citizens. We have very high expectations of behaviour at Middleton. Visitors often comment on the calm atmosphere and excellent relationships, which are so important to us.

Children, families, staff and governors work in close partnership to create enriching learning opportunities in all areas of the curriculum. Our aim is to encourage children to develop the skills they need for later life, with a very strong focus on pupils embedding learning from the breadth of the curriculum into their long-term memory. We track our children’s progress very carefully and make sure everyone knows what the next steps for learning are.

Our co curriculum offer compliments the core curriculum and provides opportunities for all pupils in wider enrichment activities, such as experiences, clubs and visits, which ensures each and every pupil leaves us at the end of Year 6 ready to relish all future opportunities and challenges.

Middleton School’s success has placed us at the top of the Milton Keynes primary league tables and in the top hundred schools in the whole country for the percentage of pupils reaching the expected standard at the end of Key Stage 2. We are very proud of this achievement because it means our children have all the tools they need to succeed in the next stage of their education.

We work very hard at Middleton, but we also believe that learning should be fun. Children are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and to develop skills which will make them lifelong learners.

We are an inclusive school and place great importance on knowing each and every one of our children really well. Every single child matters at Middleton and we value children for all their different strengths and qualities. Feedback from pupil, staff and parent questionnaires is overwhelmingly positive.

We are all very proud to be part of the Middleton family and always welcome visitors to our school, so you can see our learning in action.
