What a fantastic Spring Term we have had! We all loved our 'Wonderland' topic and enjoyed finishing off with our Wonderland Showcase. We hope you have a lovely holiday and we will see on Tuesday 23rd April to begin another busy and exciting term.
Please follow our twitter accounts to keep up to date with what we are doing.
In Year 3, our learning is cross-curricular and is led by the needs and interests of the children. We are very excited about this term’s topic, ‘The Finished Product’.
In geography our topic will be Brazil and will be linked to our English work. We will research all about this exciting country and write our own non-chronological reports. We will be looking at the journey of the cocoa bean from bar to bean and learning all about the importance of fair trade. In English we will also be reading ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ by Roald Dahl and our learning will be focussed around this novel. We will be learn all about the magical world Dahl has created and write character descriptions. In science, our first topic is 'Light' followed by ‘Plants’ so we will be undertaking a number of scientific investigations. In art we will be focussing on Monet and studying his many masterpieces. We will be learning about the impressionist movement and applying these techniques to our own artwork. In maths this term we will consolidate our knowledge and understanding of the four operations. We will also look at fractions, time, geometry and measurement.
Keep a look out for our 'Stay and Share' date as we can't wait for you to see our fantastic work in books!
