First Task
Your first task today is to log on to Purple Mash. You will find your spelling quiz for this week has been set as a 2Do for you.
Next, choose your spellings for this week. The one star spellings are common exception words (choose these if this is an area of your learning you are still working on.)
The two and three star spellings are words with the /ʌ/ sound spelt o. (mother, brother, another)
Make sure that you practise your spellings for our test next Friday.
I have made a word search to see if you can find all of your spellings. Make sure that you know what they all mean.
You could challenge yourself to write a paragraph using as many of this week's spelling words as possible.
Look at these fantastic paragraphs written week by Lera and Avelyn including all of last week’s spellings.

Main Task - Reading
Your main task today is to read a chapter from one of the books you have been set as a 2Do on Purple Mash. Then, you need to answer the quiz questions (separate 2DO) that go with that chapter. You only need to choose ONE to read. If you enjoy the first chapter you could carry on reading the book and have a go at the other activities on Purple Mash.
Purple Mash has lots of free EBooks, each with quizzes and activities for every chapter. If you click on ‘Serial Mash’ on the home page it will take you to all of their books. Year 2 is Diamond level but you could try Emerald level too.
