Please upload evidence of your work onto Purple Mash with an appropriate title e.g. ‘Fred’s reading work 03.04.20’ into your ‘my work’ folder. You can use any of the publishing tools on Purple Mash or complete this activity on Word or a piece of paper.

Wednesday 1st April

Today we would like you to draw a thought bubble for Hiccup at the the moment when Fishlegs shouts, ‘Hiccup can speak to dragons!’. It is a good idea to re-read that part of chapter 11 to help you.

You must draw Hiccup with a thought bubble that includes 3 sentences.

You should use a variety of punctuation in your thought bubble.

You could use a variety of sentence structures e.g. relative clauses, subordinate clauses.

Please upload evidence of your work onto Purple Mash either in to a new blog post ensuring that any photos are a good size or into your ‘my work’ folder. For help with how to re-size photos or uploading work see https://www.middletonschool.org/submitting-work-or-asking-your-teacher-a-questio-5/

Tuesday 31st March

Today we would like you to draw the large dragon and label it using the description in the text. You will need to have read Chapter 11 - Thor is Angry of How to Train your Dragon to be able to do this. Throughout the chapter there are many ways that the dragon and it’s features are described so make sure you have read it carefully.

You must draw a picture and label it’s features.

You should use direct quotes from the text as your labels.

You could then write a character description of the dragon and what it did in the chapter using your direct quotes from the text.

Monday 30th March

Once you have read the chapter please complete the 2Do on Purple Mash. There are a variety of questions so you will need to use many of the VIPERS (Vocabulary, Inference, Predict, Explain, Retrieve and Summarise) skills.
