WALT solve simple addition and subtraction word and reasoning problems

Start today’s learning by looking at the maths starter of the day. Have a go at the questions and mark your work using the answer sheet provided before attempting today’s learning.

Today, we are going to solve simple addition and subtraction word problems and then also look at some reasoning problems. In the live element of the lesson we will go through some example word problems and think about how we would work them out. Then, Mr Morris will direct you to complete one of the challenges below. We will then come back together to look at some reasoning problems before you attempt them independently.

Today, we are going to use our learning from last week’s live lessons to solve some multi-step word problems. In the live element of the lesson, we will look at some example word problems and think about how we would work them out. After this, Miss Ring will then direct you to complete one of the following challenges below.

Start today’s learning by looking at the maths starter of the day. Have a go at the questions and mark your work using the answer sheet provided before attempting today’s learning.

Today, we are starting our new topic: fractions. We will start by recapping our knowledge of what a fraction is. We will look at key vocabulary, such as: numerator, denominator, unit fractions and non-unit fractions. We will recap our ability to count in fractions before looking at some example questions from the challenges below. Once we have done that, Miss Bushell will then direct you to have a go at one of the challenges below:
