Week Beginning 08.02.21

Friday 12th February

WALT: Write the remainder of our newspaper report

We will start today’s learning by completing our final spelling test of this half term.

Today, we are going to write the remainder of our newspaper report based on the disappearance of Hansel and Gretel. Yesterday you looked at how to write a good paragraph focusing on the 5Ws and then a follow up paragraph where you added more detail. Today we are going to include some witness accounts and think about a concluding paragraph.

A 2Do has been set of a blank newspaper report. Your first task will be to copy over your headline and introductory paragraphs from yesterday’s work.

Then following on from Mr. Morris’ lesson, think about the middle part of your newspaper where you can include interviews/eye witness accounts. After this, think about your concluding paragraph, what will happen next? (The children won’t have been found but what things could the King/Queen do to help?)

Finally use your plan from Wednesday and the success criteria created in the lesson to make sure you have included the key features necessary for a newspaper report.
