Week Beginning 04.01.21

Tuesday 5th January 2021

WALT recall historical facts that we had learnt in the Autumn term.

Today’s non-core lesson is on History. We have set up a quiz on Purple Mash that we would like you to have a go at. This will revisit some of our history learning that we had completed before the Christmas break. This is in in your 2do list on Purple Mash when you log onto the website.

Once you have had a go at the quiz, we would like you to pick either the Vikings, Tudors or the Early Islamic Civilisation and create a poster which explain everything we know about them so far. You could even research your own information to add to your poster!

Wednesday 6th January 2021

WALT compare similarities and differences between Sikh stories.

Today, we are going to be learning about Sikh stories and their importance for Sikhs in how they live their lives. Open the pdf or word document below to get started.

The Sikh stories of The Milk and the Jasmine Flower and Duni Chand and the Silver Needle.
This is for Wednesday's RE lesson. Watch the video and follow the tasks on the lesson overview sheets for more information.

Thursday 7th January 2021

WALT design and write a program that accomplishes specific goals e.g. making a character move.

Today, we are going to be learning how to make objects move via coding. To begin with, there are 3 tasks which we have set on Purple Mash (2Dos) for this lesson. Go and complete these tasks. There are guides before each step to help you code the program correctly to move on through the sequence.

Once you have done that, as a challenge, we would like you to open Free Code Gorilla (also in your 2Dos) and have a go at creating your own program which involves objects moving. There are no guides to help you with this challenge, but having completed the tasks above, you should have a good understanding of how to make the characters move on their own and with input from a user. You can then save these files straight into your folders so we can see your excellent coding skills. Good luck!
