WALT understand the effect of climate change and our choices

Fairtrade Fortnight is being celebrated between the 22nd February – 7th March. In today’s lesson we are going to be considering the impact of climate change and what we can do to make a difference. Open the Powerpoint or watch the video to get started. Then complete the chilli challenges within the documents.

Please note, in the above video, when discussing the starter picture, I describe multiple times the vegetation and the fauna. I'd clearly been staring at my computer screen for too long as I meant the vegetation and flora, not fauna. Fauna means animals (which there clearly aren't any in the picture) whereas flora means plants.

NO SCREEN DAY!

Oh no!!! Please tell me you aren't looking at this today. If you are, revert your eyes IMMEDIATELY! Today is No Screen Day! laugh

As a result, there is no non-core focused lesson today. However, we have provided a range of activities for you to be getting involved with on our 'No Screen Day Bingo!' sheet. We can't wait to see what you've been up to.

Thursday 4th March 2021

WALT design and write a program that accomplishes specific goals

In today’s lesson we are going to build on our knowledge of coding from last half term. To begin with, we are going to start by debugging a given code. This means there are some problems within the instructions which we need to look out for and fix.

If you’d like some further challenges, there are some available which will challenge you to begin creating your own game, using given instructions. As well as this, for an even greater challenge you will able to use your knowledge and skills from earlier challenges to create your very own competitive game.

Look at the challenges within the document below and then log into Purple Mash to get started.
