WALT: compare formal and informal letters

 

We would love if you could join us for our live lesson this morning at 9.30am. We will be continuing our learning on Letters and focusing on formal letters.

Formal Letters - Checklist

Sender’s address (on the right)

Recipient’s address (on the left)

Opening: Dear Sir/Madam (if you don’t know them) OR Dear Mr/Mrs Name (if you do know who they are)

Introduction – Why are you writing?

Formal sentence starters

Lots of detail organised into paragraphs

A conclusion saying what will happen next

Closing: Yours Faithfully (if you don’t know them) OR Yours Sincerely (if you do know who they are)
