Hello Year 1 Children and Grown – Ups,

This week in English I would like you to keep a diary. Each day you will need to write sentences about what you have been doing and how you are feeling.

You may choose to write your diary on the day or the day after. It would be lovely to also draw a picture to illustrate your diary entry.

Take a look at the example below to help you.

To write 4 sentences daily using full stops, capital letters and finger spaces independently.

To write at least 5 sentences daily using full stops, capital letters, finger spaces and the conjunction 'and' to join ideas.

To write at least 5 sentences daily using full stops, capital letters, finger spaces and the conjunction 'and' or 'because' to join ideas.

Dear Diary

I wanted to write to you to tell you all about my exciting day yesterday. I went to the park with my family and I was really excited. I went on the swings and see–saw with my little sister. It was a sunny day and we had a delicious picnic. At home I played with my toys and then I watched a film with my dad.

I hope that you are ok.

Speak soon.
