WALT: use expanded noun phrases and prepositional phrases
We would love if you could join us for our live lesson this morning at 9.30am. We will be introducing our unit of work on a short film called ‘The Lighthouse’
If you cannot join us this time, please work through the resources below and choose a challenge to work through before submitting your work to Purple Mash.
Starter
Listen to the clip below. Set yourself a 2 minute timer. Can you write down on a whiteboard or piece of paper as many words or phrases to describe what you can hear? How does it make you feel? What do you imagine that it looks like?

Can you name the 5 human senses? What are they?
Can you fill in the ‘Senses Table’ with interesting words and phrases using this picture as a stimulus?
Independent Activities
Choose one of the following:
* MILD - Can you write a collection of expanded noun phrases to describe the setting of the lighthouse and its surroundings?
** SPICY - Can you use the Senses Writing template to describe the setting of the lighthouse and its surroundings?
*** HOT - Can you write a paragraph to describe the setting of the lighthouse and its surroundings? Remember to use your senses and include expanded noun phrases and prepositional phrases.
