WALT plan a balanced argument

Today we would like you to plan a balanced argument to answer the statement below:

The Rainbow Serpent is the most important Aboriginal dream tale.

To be able to answer this you will need to look at both sides of the argument both the for and against points. Remember that a balanced argument will include compare and contrast conjunctions, logical conjunctions to link your ideas together and generalisers and you should include some of these on your plan (see examples below). You should also use formal language throughout. Please use the template below to help you to plan out you balanced argument. We have also included the success criteria that you will need to use later in the week when you write your balanced argument.

Mild - Use the 'Boxed up plan Simple argument' template below (or draw your own version) to structure your ideas. Remember to write in the 3rd person until you get to the conclusion where you are allowed to share your opinion.

Spicy - Use the 'Boxed up plan for interweaving argument' template below (or draw your own version) to structure your ideas. An interweaving argument looks at a for point and then an against point and then has another for point etc. Remember to write in the 3rd person until you get to the conclusion where you are allowed to share your opinion.

Hot - Use the 'Boxed up plan for interweaving argument Hot' template below (or draw your own version) to structure your ideas. An interweaving argument looks at a for point and then an against point and then has another for point etc. Your plan must include at least 4 for points and 4 against points - you can edit the template to include more.  Remember to write in the 3rd person until you get to the conclusion where you are allowed to share your opinion. We would also like you to within your argument make sure you include reference to events in other dream time stories to strengthen your argument.
