Reading is extremely important. Please try to read with your child daily and write the details into their reading record. While reading, please ask your child questions to check their understanding of what they have read.
Please use the free eBooks that are on the Oxford Owl website. You will need to register to access the books. You can find books that are age and reading level appropriate.
WALT add and subtract 10
This week we have practised adding and subtracting multiples of 10 from any number. We have practised the skill practically and then have learnt the column method.
Your homework this week is to have a race by adding and subtracting 10 from a number. Purple numbers you need to +10 and blue numbers you need to -10. Use the method that you are most comfortable with to help you answer the questions.
Take a picture of your work and upload it to your 'My Work' folder on Purple Mash so we can see how you get on.
WALT write questions
While looking at the features of informal letters, we found that they included questions. We have verbally formed questions, karate chopping our question marks in the air and have written some questions into our books.
Your homework is to think of a topic and put it in the middle of the bubble on the worksheet. Around the bubble write 5 relevant questions using each of the 5 Ws - Who? What? Where? When? Why?
You can edit the document or take a picture of it and upload it to Purple Mash.
