WALT design a star catching contraption

We are starting a new book this week. It's called 'How to catch a star' by Oliver Jeffers. He has read the book himself - if you click the link the below and scroll down you can find the video that has this book on it. There are lots of others on here as well that you can listen to in your own time!

The PowerPoint from todays lesson is below:

The boy tried to catch his star in all sorts of different ways but none of them worked! Do you think that you could design a star-catching machine? You’ll need to think about the different materials that you could use and label each part.

You can either use Purple Mash to create your design or complete it on a piece of paper if you would prefer.

1 Star - Draw and label your star-catching contraption.

2 Stars -

Draw and label your star-catching contraption.

Write a short description about it: how does it work? Is it easy to use? What adjectives would you use to describe it?

3 Stars -

Draw and label your star-catching contraption.

Imagine that you are Oliver Jeffers. Write a paragraph about your contraption that could be included in ‘How to Catch a Star’. Make sure you include expanded noun phrases in your writing.

If you draw your design on paper - upload a photo of it to Purple Mash - we cannot wait to see your designs!
