Lunar New Year - 12th February 2021

Lunar New Year!

Today, it's the Lunar New Year (some of you might know it as Chinese New Year). This year is the year of the Ox. It is celebrated in lots of places like China, Vietnam and South Korea.

Did you know?

The date of the new year changes each year - this is because the calendar always starts again when there is a full moon. It will always fall between the 21st January and the 20th February every year. This year it starts on the 12th February.

Every new year is named after an animal - most of you were born in the year of the snake or the horse - have a look at the picture below, which one are you?

Below, there are lots of activities for you to have a go at - there are some things you can print out, but make sure to ask an adult before you do any printing! We hope you enjoy these.
