Home PE Games (All Year Groups)

Rather than post bits on each year group, we have decided to create one data base of games and activities so that people can pick and choose what they want to play.

We will update this page every 2 weeks. There are 10 activities to start with so there is no need to complete all of them as quickly ass possible!

We would love to see so children attempt the activities. We can see them either by tagging the Sports feed on Twitter (@Sports1MPS) or email us on pe@middletonschool.org

Ws would also love to see the children be creative and adapt our ideas to make them harder and/or more interesting for them. None of the games have to be Sport Specific, they work on the skills needed broadly across all sports. If you want some ideas on how to work on a specific area, please contact us and we will see what we can recommend.

Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all when it is safe to do so again.

Mr Beaumont, Miss Wilcox and Mr Timajo.

Circle Tag

All you need is some items to make a circle with and somebody to play with!

Dishes and Domes

We have used cones, you could use plastic cups or tinned cans of food. The video demonstrates 1 vs 1 but you could add more equipment and play 2 vs 1 or 2 vs 2.

Reaction Diamond

All that is needed is 4 items and a patterned to call out the instructions.

Shapeshifters

A game that I am sure siblings will enjoy playing against each other. You need soft items to through, and if you do not have a ball you could use a pillow to block.

Target Practice

Use whatever equipment you have. Children DO NOT play towards windows!

Reaction Catching 1

Do not feel the need to rush through the challenges. If you vary the size of the objects that adds an extra dimension of difficulty.

Reaction Catching 2

The second version on the theme. Not necessarily more difficult, just a variation to develop the skill further.

Bear training

Needed: 4 items, lots of co ordination and a surprising amount of strength 💪

Reactions of a cat!

You either need a neutral person to call the colours or there are online apps that you can put in the middle of the players on phone or tablet (I am going to look this up and post it in here when I have found the exact name).

High ball challenge

If anyone can do this first attempt then we will be hugely impressed! As you can see with a failed attempt in the demonstration, it is harder than it looks!

This app can help add extra challenges. It’s free on app stores.
