Today we’re going to practise some active drawing and this can be really helpful if you’re feeling anxious or worried. It can help us to take our mind off those worries and get into a feeling of flow.
First pick an object which you would feel comfortable drawing. Then have a go at sketching it. It doesn’t have to be perfect and try not to use a rubber, just take your time.
Next challenge - close your eyes and have a go at sketching the same object. Really try to think hard of what the object looked like and try to remember any unusual parts.
Then your next challenge is to have a go at sketching your object without taking your pencil off the page. It will mean going over the same lines multiple times and it’s a lot harder than you think. Give it a try!
Final challenge
Here are the pictures we drew. You can tell there are some similarities but also at times we weren’t quite sure! Definitely worth a try.
