We have come back to school ready for our last term of learning in Foundation! During this term we have some very exciting events happening, including our visit to Rookery Farm. We will also be learning about different materials, animal habitats and knights and princesses.
As part of our Summer term learning Foundation have been planting flowers in our flower beds. Doing real life sketching and making specials in our mid kitchen!
We had some very exciting visitors in Foundation! We loved watching the eggs hatch in to cute little chicks and we had a go at carefully holding them. We also learned about the life cycle of a hen to understand the different stages of growth.
World Book Day
On 7th March we took part in World Book Day by dressing up as our favourite book characters and sharing stories. Our theme this year was all about plastic pollution and how we can take care of our planet so we focused our learning around a story called Tidy.
Oh Help, Oh No - It's a Gruffalo!
We had a fantastic time on our Gruffalo Walk to the Poplar Woods. We helped our teachers re-tell the story as we walked and we found all the different characters hiding on the trees!
This term we are focusing on re-telling stories. We will be taking an adventure into the Poplar Woods to re-tell 'The Gruffalo' and meet the characters! In the second half of the term we will be finding out all about different life cycles and will welcome the Living Eggs into our Foundation. We are very excited to watch them hatch into little chicks.
Our learning so far...
We have been doing lots of fun and fantastic activities in Foundation over the last few weeks. We have learned about different jungle animals and superheroes and have been developing our skills through a variety of indoor and outdoor learning.
Welcome to Foundation
The children have just started settling in to their first year at Middleton. They are learning the classroom rules, choosing their learning and exploring the outside area.
This half term we are learning all about dinosaurs, the jungle and different types of birds. We will also be starting our Letters and Sounds and Numbers and Patterns. We look forward to updating you on all our great learning soon!
