Arts and crafts with Miss Fowler, Miss Mayes and Miss Hemmings

Turn your name into a crazy creature

These crazy creatures started with our names, became a symmetrical design and then got some personality when the colour came along!

Fold over a piece of paper and write your name in pencil. You can make your creatures as big or small as you like. You could write just your first name or your full name.

Once you have written your name, cut it out.

When you open it up, you will have a fantastic shape, ready to create your creature.

We would love to see you crazy creatures. Please email them to the office and we will post them on this page.

Make Natural Art

To mix things up, put the pencils and crayons to one side and look for natural art materials instead. Collect fallen leaves, petals and sticks and use them to make a picture or sculpture. Please make sure if you are out, you don't pick wildflowers as they are important for wildlife and some are protected by law.

You could even use the objects as 'stampers' or paintbrushes - dipping them in paint and rolling, brushing or stamping them on paper to create interesting patterns and effects.

I have used twigs, leaves and pebbles to write my dog’s name. Can you read what she is called? Can you write your own name?

Here are some ideas for what you can do.

Easter Cards

This week, it is Easter Sunday and there is still time to make Easter cards for your family and friends. I really enjoyed making these cute cards and I hope you do too. I followed the video below to help me make my cards. Don't download the template, you can easily draw each part yourself.

I didn’t have any googly eyes so I just cut the eyes out of card. You could also add any crafty bits you have at home such as pom poms or cotton wool. Most importantly, don't forget to write a nice message inside.

We’d love to see your cards! You can email a photo of your card to the office and we will add them on this page.

Here is a video to show you how to make these cards:

Draw with Rob

We thought it would be fun to try and draw like an illustrator. Rob Biddulph is a fantastic children's illustrator and he is posting draw-along videos every Tuesday and Thursday.

Below is our effort of drawing the Gregosaurus. We would love to see your drawings! Please take photos of your drawings and put them on your class blogs for your teachers to see.

Antonio, Miguel, Robyn, Jackson and Leo have taken up the art challenge by drawing their own Gregosaurus. I think you’ll agree they are fantastic.
