Year 2 enjoyed their cross curricular Great Fire of London Day and wore clothes similar to those that would have been worn in 1666. We made 3D model houses out of paper and created our own model of London in 1666. The grown ups set fire to our paper city to show just how quickly the fire spread. We visited our own bakery to make bread. We had to measure the ingredients carefully, knead the dough and create a shape of our choice. We created beautiful artwork using a template for a house and crafted flames using tissue paper. To add extra detail to our houses we used strips of black paper to create beams on our houses. We enjoyed using the computers to produce images of what we imagined Samuel Pepys saw outside his window during The Great Fire of London.
