Geography

At Middleton, geography is taught within the children's topic lessons. We strive to try to provide as many opportunities for outdoor learning and field trips so that the children can learn from first hand experiences. Geography is a subject that aims to ensure pupils develop knowledge of the location of places of global and local significance and understand human and physical geographical features of the world. Children will be given opportunities to develop their map reading skills and compare a range of sources including aerial photographs, researching in books or on the internet and looking at globes.

After locating volcanoes with atlases and creating factfiles about them, Year 4 made their own volcanoes using a variety of materials.
